Rail Bridge - Respryn - Lanhydrock - Cornwall - Original 12" x 16" Oil Painting

This is a 2024 plein-aire painting.

I walked along the River from the magnificent bridge, hoping to paint the wooden

pedestrian bridge which crosses the River. However the luxuriant trees and bushes were in full leaf and it was not visible!

Applying the advice, "if you can't see anything suitable to paint, look behind you" - I turned round and walked into the field behind.

This is the view - with the invevitable dog walker - featuring, the lovely stone arch carrying the main London to Penzance line.

The shadows from the tree on this hot aAugust day, contrasting well with the strong sunlight, added to the appeal.

12" x 16" oils on canvas board.
