About us
I have been an oil painting conservator since the 1970's, I currently also also enjoy painting .
In 2009 I relocated from beautiful Yorkshire to stunning Cornwall.
My lifetime interest in art developed from watching my father paint and accompanying him mainly to the London Art Collections, particularly the National and Tate Galleries.
I owned a small Gallery in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, and carried on conservation of oil paintings, including lining, on the premises. I also bought & sold 19th & early 20th works, especially with Yorkshire connections, and particularly Staithes Group, and held many exhibitions from early 1980's until 2005 .
I started painting watercolours in 1999 as a change from the exacting and detailed work of restoration. My impressionist/looser style reflects this freedom. This website initially focused on my watercolours, and prints from these works. However, as I started painting en-plein-aire in 2021, and am now hooked on it, I thought the website name should reflect this - hence the change!
I was commissioned to provided some prints for the opening of "The World of James Herriot " Museum in Thirsk (Darrowby). I have painted many views of wonderful Yorkshire, and since moving South, have been inspired by the beautiful and varied Cornish & Devonian Scenery.
This website has been constructed for you to view these original watercoloours & prints, also my new oil paintings, as well as providing a link if you require any conservation work.
There may also be a section of older works for Sale from 19th & 20th Century.
